Social TV blog LostRemote acquired by WebMediaBrands

Social TV blog LostRemote acquired by WebMediaBrands

Online media company WebMediaBrands has announced that it has acquired LostRemote, a niche tech blog covering the emerging social TV sphere.

Terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed, but it sees the LostRemote, founded by BreakingNews.com general manager Cory Bergman join WebMediaBrands’ roster of blogs, which it groups under the MediaBistro, Semantic Web and Inside Network umbrellas. The title covers everything from social buzz around TV shows to TV-related computer hardware.

Other titles owned by WebMediaBrands include TVnewser and Inside Facebook. LostRemote will be part of the MediaBistro brand, and according to a report there (and they should know!) Cory Bergman will stay on as editor, with Natan Edelsburg as lead writer.

As with many online media companies, WebMediaBrands is looking to capitalize on its new purchase by launching an accompanying event –  a trade show called ‘Lost Remote’s Inside Social TV’, for which dates will be announced soon.
