MyRoomIn takes a hands-on approach to finding you a boutique hotel

MyRoomIn takes a hands-on approach to finding you a boutique hotel

When it comes to finding and booking boutique hotels, local knowledge is often the key to finding those special gems. MyRoomIn offers just that. Launching today in Paris, it’s a search and booking platform for boutique hotels that gives users exclusive photos and information gathered by local hotel and travel experts.

In order to give users as good an insight as possible, the company has experts visit, scrutinize and photograph every room before it gets listed. They also interview management at the hotel and get the background story on the property and business; did you know that Hotel du Petit Moulin was designed by Christian Lacroix and is fittingly located in the Marais, the former home to French royalty?

The level of detail gathered by MyRoomIn allows you to narrow your search using 125 filters, including free Wi-Fi, room size, concierge services, dining hours, food allergies and more.

You can also search according to lifestyle and interests as My RoomIn has divided all of its listings into nine categories: History, Hip, Glamorous, Garden, Elegant, Mythical, Panorama, Artsy and Bohemian.

When you’re booking through MyRoomIn, there are no additional reservation fees as the company takes a cut from each booking and promises that if a guest finds a lower price for the same room, they will match it.

It also says you will get the exact room that you choose online, as opposed to a similar one or substitution. If there are any issues with the chosen room, MyRoomIn says it will offer a superior room to solve the problem.

As well as vetting the room itself, MyRoomIn has its experts compile a guide to niche local restaurants, gardens, streets, shops and attractions, which a lot of hotels do already, but with MyRoomIn it will be printed and in your room for you on arrival and that’s a nice touch.

MyRoomIn is only offering rooms in Paris at launch and will expand to include London and Rome later this year, it says.
