The Next Web is looking for a reporter based on the West Coast of the USA or Canada. Working remotely with our team spread around the world, you’ll be covering the flood of news that comes out of the USA and beyond every day.

This isn’t a role where we want you to just rewrite press releases. You’ll have opinions and insights you can bring to your reporting, and a keen eye for scoops and unique angles.

If you’ve got experience, connections and a track record of scoops, great – we want to hear from you. However, we still want to talk to people who don’t necessarily need to have a lot of professional experience, but you’ll need to show us that you’ve written about technology with passion and intelligence, whether that’s for another ‘pro’ publication or for your personal blog.

You’ll be keen to use your contacts, and to develop new ones, to break news from the biggest companies in tech. You’ll also be keen to introduce the world to the best new startups and technologies. Fast and accurate in your reporting, you’ll be able to able to speak the language of The Next Web’s audience. A sense of humor is a must, too.

You could be based anywhere in the Pacific timezone, but Bay Area applications are particularly encouraged (all applications will be considered though, so still apply wherever you are in that timezone).

Salary is negotiable based on experience. We offer health insurance to US employees plus an ‘unlimited leave’ policy worldwide.
