A management program like no other

A management program like no other

The world has changed since business and management schools were first conceived by industrialists in 19th century Paris. Jobs are no longer for life, the current career ladder is more like an obstacle course and consistent shifts in technology and commerce make it hard for the skills you learned 10 years ago to remain relevant. In order to thrive professionally, you need a program that is global, flexible and combines traditional techniques with cutting-edge delivery systems.

Enter the Global Executive Master of Science in Strategic Design and Management at Parsons Paris. The European sister campus to New York City’s leading design institute, The New School’s Parsons School of Design, offers a business and management graduate degree adapted to the times we live in, and prizes agility and creativity alongside content knowledge.

Designed for professionals, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs who have already forged a path in their careers, this program is for those who need to be at the forefront of their industries and understand that strong leadership comes from investing in learning more. Launching in July 2016, with the first cohort of applications due January 2016, the course of 18 months is structured so that 25 peers participate in a series of six courses, each commencing with three-day intensive learning sessions at Parsons Paris, followed by online learning and collaboration, hands-on-studios and global experiences in Paris, New York and Shanghai.

While many master’s degrees require a full-time commitment away from work, or even a part-time commitment that makes it difficult to juggle a work-life balance, the Global Executive Master’s requires only 18 days away from the office. In that time, students will develop a deep understanding of design thinking, sustainable business models, management skills for creative projects and how governance and regulatory frameworks transform the global economy.

This program provides real-world perspectives and problems affecting businesses, design research, management, sustainability and innovation today and tomorrow. This is achieved via weeklong studio intensive sessions in Paris, New York and Shanghai. Discover intimate details on how challenges in design and business change in different parts of the globe, as well as connect to industry leaders who share their real-life experiences in innovating new products, services and business models – all while keeping your current job.

The cohort model is another distinguishing characteristic of the Global Executive Master’s at Parsons Paris. Designed to foster a sense of community between classmates, it’s a program that understands the value of building a meaningful network among an intimate peer group, all of whom share a like-minded perspective on becoming creative industry leaders from a variety of backgrounds. The relationships built here will continue to be relevant for years to come.
