New tutorial shows you how to create your own content blocker for iOS 9 (in 10 minutes)

One of the coolest parts of iOS 9 is content blocking, which strips much of the ads and tracking code from Safari. If you’re iffy about downloading one from the App Store, try making your own!

Paul Hudson, who runs Hacking with Swift, has published the timely ‘Safari Content Blocking in iOS 9: a tutorial by example.’ In it, he shows you how to create your own add blocker in Xcode.

While a level of coding know-how is preferable, you could go without; Paul is pretty thorough and explanatory. He says you could get through it in 10 minutes, but novices will need much more time with the content than that.

There are also plenty of ad blockers available in the App Store, but what’s the fun in that? Write your own and really be in control of your destiny.
