Lyft partners with transportation service Didi Kuaidi to ease into China

Today, Lyft announced a partnership with DiDi Kuaidi to bring its ride-sharing service to China. In addition to the partnership, Didi has invested $100 million in Lyft.

The deal will allow Lyft users to tap into Didi’s network while overseas. Didi bridges all methods of transportation; you can schedule a taxi or find bus info via its app — and yes, ride-sharing is also available.

Lyft users who visit China will have the same experience they’re used to, but will see all of Didi’s info in-app without having to download a separate app.

Didi says Lyft users will also be able to find English-speaking drivers, a convenience many travelers will find helpful. It’s similar to the deal Uber and Duolingo recently struck.

Lyft users visiting China will find Didi info in-app early next year.
