Apple Pay is reportedly launching in Canada this Fall

Apple Pay is gearing up to expand outside US borders.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the company is currently in talks with Canada’s six biggest banks (Royal Bank of Canada,Toronto-Dominion Bank,Bank of Nova Scotia,Bank of Montreal,Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and National Bank of Canada) in preparation for a potential November launch in the country.

The WSJ writes banks are open to Apple Pay, but the parties are still negotiating fees. The banks also expressed concerns over the security issues that have popped up since the system launched in the US.

Of course, none of this is terribly surprising – Apple was bound to move outside the US eventually – but iOS fans in Canada may finally have a native mobile payments solution soon.
