Amazon’s newest delivery drone prototype has approval for testing in the US

Remember those crazy delivery drones Amazon was touting? Well, the company hasn’t given up on them.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) yesterday gave Amazon the green light to test its drones.  According to the approval document, Amazon has to keep the drones at 400 feet or lower, and they can travel at no faster than 100 miles per hour.

The FAA had originally granted Amazon permission for an earlier drone prototype, but it took the FAA so long to approve it that Amazon decided to retire the model for being obsolete. This time around the FAA approved the new model in less than a month.
