Tech5 UK: YPlan named the UK’s fastest growing tech startup

Congratulations to event organizing network YPlan on being named the fastest-growing startup in the UK.

Speaking about the win, Rytis Vitkauskas, CEO and co-founder of YPlan said:

We’re thrilled to have won this award, the competition was tough so it’s a real achievement for us to have been selected. We’re very much looking forward to appearing on stage at The Next Web’s 10th anniversary conference. With such a fantastic line up whether we’re crowned Europe’s fastest growing start-up or not, it’ll certainly be a rewarding experience.

TNW and Adyen hosted the UK awards event last week in London’s ICEBAR where the five finalists – YPlan, Festicket, TransferWise, Kano and Lyst – presented stories of their success and sat down for a panel discussion on the theme of the evening, tech fuelling growth.

It came to the fore during the discussion that one of the key features in scaling your company is the importance of the people you surround yourself with. Whether that means hiring the right staff, getting the right investors or just your family and friends outside of work – having the support of the people around you helps make work a little easier to deal with.

The UK event was the first of the European regional finals which will be continuing in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and Stockholm in the coming weeks. Each of the regional winners will then go on to attend the final European event at The Next Web Conference in Amsterdam next month.

The aim of Tech5 is to identify Europe’s fastest-growing young tech companies. Finalists are chosen by their growth rate between 2012 and 2015 based on actual revenue and employee data. Each company must offer its own scalable tech-driven product or service, be less than five years old and must have revenues of more than €200,000.

➤ YPlan will be appearing on stage at TNW Conference Europe, but with the Tech5 wildcard voting round now open, you can cast a vote for one of the other 30 Tech5 companies to join the regional winners at the big event!
