Back in May, Microsoft acquired mobile analytics startup Capptain. The fruits of that purchase are now showing up: Microsoft has revealed a preview for Azure Mobile Engagement, a real-time analytics tool using Capptain’ s technology.
Like its predecessor, the new tool provides targeted marketing based on user behavior and demographics. The platform works with push notification services such as Google’s GCM, Apple’s APNS or Microsoft’s own MPNS, but also features in-app messaging abilities.
It also features open API’s to allow for easy integration with other platforms, such as importing data from content management systems.
