As usual with free student software, however, the access is meant for educational purposes only – no commercial usage allowed.

The announcement follows an earlier move by Autodesk to make its software available to middle and high school students in the US as part of Obama’s ConnectEd initiative, which looks to make it easier for students to access educational technology.

If you’re a student or educator and want to request access to Autodesk’s software, check out the company’s education page.
