Whisper’s new non-profit project offers resources to battle bullying and mental health issues

Anonymous sharing app Whisper has launched a non-profit project that is focused on helping those suffering at the hands of bullying, depression and other mental health issues.

The growth of apps like Whisper, Secret and YikYak — which allow users to share information under the cloak of anonymity — have raised concerns about mental health and bullying. Just last week, Fortune exposed major issues with Secret’s system for detecting bullying — now Whisper’s founders are responding to “a need we couldn’t ignore”, as they told Re/Code.

YourVoice is their creation. The website includes videos from those who have overcome difficulties, and resources for anxiety, bullying, stress, sexual abuse and more. Those who want to share their experiences can submit their own videos for consideration.
