Amazon expands its Mobile Ads API to support iOS devices, says the Fire phone will be added on July 25

Amazon has announced that its mobile ad network supports iOS devices as of today, and will be adding support for its Fire phone on July 25, the day it launches. The move means developers can now place both banner and interstitial ads across Android, iOS, and Fire OS devices.

At the same time, Amazon is also expanding ad serving to users in Spain and Italy across Android and iOS. This means the Amazon Mobile Ad Network now serves ads to users in six countries (the US, the UK, Germany, and France being the other four).

Amazon first introduced its Mobile Ads API in March 2013, but ads were only visible for US users. Developers have the option to distribute an app that incorporates the API through other Android stores with one condition: they have to distribute it through Amazon’s Appstore as well.
