Raspberry Pi has now sold over 2 million of its affordable micro-computers

Raspberry Pi has now sold over 2 million of its affordable micro-computers

raspberry pi-cropThe world was impressed in January when it was estimated that one million Raspberry Pis had been sold. Fast forward to today and the Raspberry Pi Foundation has announced that it has doubled the figure, after selling its two millionth unit in October.

It took one year to hit one million sales of the micro-computer — which is available from just $25 — but the two million mark has come far quicker, taking just under 10 months.

We’ve seen some very cool uses of the UK-built device — for example one guy used it to control his garage door, alarm, thermostat, lights, and even TV.
