A second member of hacking group LulzSec has been handed a one-year prison sentence for playing a part in an attack on Sony Pictures which saw personal data belonging to 138,000 customers leaked.
Raynaldo Rivera, a 21-year-old who went by Internet names “neuron” and “royal,” pleaded guilty and has been hit by 366 days in jail, 13 months of house arrest and 1,000 hours of community service. On top of that, the Los Angeles-based prosecutors have ordered him to pay $605,663 in restitution costs.
Another member of LulzSec, which is affiliated with the Anonymous ‘hacktivist’ group, was given a one-year jail sentence back in April.
