Zeppelin takes its cloud-data business dashboard mobile with a new iOS application

Today Zeppelin announced an iOS app, complementing its Web-based service that provides a social media dashboard for businesses to track their key metrics. Data from Google Analytics, MailChimp, and other services are shown inside of Zeppelin, and teams can communicate in feed form to stay on the same page.

The service looks like this when in action:

With the addition of its new iOS app, the company hopes to “fundamentally changing the way executives and managers access and act upon important business data while away from the office.” For users of Zeppelin, it will be a boon.

The app itself does what you would expect, showing the same data that the desktop Web-dashboard shows, along with the activity stream users should already be familiar with. Alerts are a nice addition, pinging you when something requires your attention. Here’s a shot of the application’s interface that the company shared on its website:

The aggregation of cloud services into a meta-service isn’t a new idea, but it is one that has legs; as companies and individuals increasingly lean on a disparate array of SaaS and PaaS tools to execute their daily workflow, finding a way to keep all their ducks rowed properly isn’t a small task.

The service for now remains in beta, but you can submit your email address in hopes of an invite. Zeppelin is a company worth keeping an eye on. If it can help executives make better sense of their company’s most vital statistics, it could help reduce confusion, and help drive better decision making.
