Cloud collaboration platform Teambox partners with Box, giving each bundle customer 15 GB of free storage

Cloud collaboration platform Teambox partners with Box, giving each bundle customer 15 GB of free storage

Cloud collaboration platform Teambox announced that it has formed a partnership with Box in a move that strengthens the product and gives its 150,000 customers the ability to centralize all their files that are being shared internally. Through this new Teambox-Box bundle, global enterprise customers can get up to 15 GB of free storage.

Certainly competing against the likes of Citrix/Podio, Microsoft, Salesforce’s Do.com, Asana, Basecamp, Huddle, and others isn’t an easy thing, but Teambox thinks that it’s possible by offering it’s slick platform that enable organizations to integrate file-sharing services, group chat, interactive notes, and Web-based apps all in one place.

Dan Schoenbaum, Teambox’s CEO, says:

With the consumerization of IT, we’re seeing a trend of more and more customer employees storing their company files on unsecured networks. Teambox is addressing this trend by offering free secure storage from Box. Now, companies not only have unmatched team collaboration, but the confidence of accessing and sharing content from any device, any where and securely.

The traditional ways to manage projects no longer are efficient. With teams sometimes scattered around the world or working on various projects, being able to collaborate amongst themselves is crucial. Email is definitely not a great solution either because quite often emails get lost or you spend countless hours just trying to filter through it — believe me, I’ve been there. What teams need is a central repository where all communication can take place and files can be stored.

With the Teambox-Box bundle, customers will not only get 15 GB of free storage for each user from Box, but also auditing and usage reporting from the cloud-storage company, custom branded file storage, full two-way file syncing between the two companies, and the ability to access and share content from any device.

The bundle is free for all customers, as long as there are up to five users, five projects, and/or 15 GB of Box storage. Anything beyond that will start at $5 per user/month with unlimited storage.

This isn’t the first cloud storage service that it integrates with. Other services that work with Teambox include Dropbox and Google Docs.

Teambox has raised $1.75 million and has more than 150,000 businesses using its service around the world, including BP, the World Bank, Groupon, Southwest Airlines, the University of Arizona, and many others.
