Amazon’s Black Friday store opens for business today

It has become something of a tradition in recent years, but Amazon has just opened its Black Friday Store in the build up to the holiday season.

Black Friday is synonymous with big shopping discounts, mainly in the US, though Amazon did bring the concept to the UK back in 2010 and the concept is becoming more familiar outside of the States.

Kicking off the day after Thanksgiving – the last Thursday in November – Black Friday typically heralds the start of the Christmas shopping period.

With Amazon’s Black Friday portal, the e-commerce giant offers free shipping on select items across its whole range, and features a Deal of the Day, along with limited-time ‘Lightning Deals’ through to the Black Friday weekend.

More and more online retailers have taken to launching Black Friday promotions in recent times. Indeed, we can expect to see many more retailers kick off their holiday-seasons special offers imminently.
