DreamIt Ventures looks to boost eCommerce startups in NYC with new advisory board

DreamIt Ventures, a NY, Philidelphia and Israel based startup accelerator program, has just announced the creation of a new eCommerce board for its DreamIt NYC Summer 2012 program. The board will help support eCommerce related startups by holding office hours, conducting seminars and offering expert advice and mentorship.

The announcement goes to show how the eCommerce space is rapidly changing as traditional online stores die down in exchange for subscription service startups and niche, members only powerhouses like Fab. Clearly, there’s a lot of innovation happening and entrepreneurs are eager to be a part of it!

As for the board, it includes a cross-section of experts in the eCommerce space from Bonobos, OneStop, Wal-Mart, Shop.org, Sheplers, Kate Spade, QVC, 1-800-Flowers, Amazon/Quidsi, FutureNow and American Express.

Thoughts from Mark Wachen, Managing Director of DreamIt NYC:

We’re thrilled to have such an incredible group of eCommerce luminaries supporting the companies in the DreamIt program. Many of our advisory board members have been doing eCommerce since the advent of the internet as a commercial medium in the mid-1990s.  The experience and perspectives they bring will be of immeasurable value to our DreamIt participants.

DreamIt NYC will run this summer and applications are still open. Startups from DreamIt Israel will also have access to the board. The accelerator expects to accept up to 15 companies for this class and the application deadline is March 16, 2012!
