UPDATE: @FacebookPlaces account was fake

UPDATE: Our post must have alerted either Twitter and/or Facebook about this account – Twitter has suspended this account – although in our defense a lot of influential tech people were following the account (in a email someone also told us that a few Facebook employees were also following the account, but we can’t verify that now as the account is suspended). We’ve emailed Facebook for comment on this whole saga to see what they say.

UPDATE 2: Facebook has confirmed with us that the account was a fake.
