Sundar Pichai welcomes Indian Prime Minister to Google HQ

Google CEO Sundar Pichai took to YouTube to welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Silicon Valley, where he will address US-based Indians at the SAP Center in San Jose and visit Google’s headquarters later this week.

Modi’s visit marks the second time that an Indian Prime Minister will make an appearance on the west coast, after Jawaharlal Nehru in 1949.

Pichai reiterated the company’s interest in bringing the next 1 billion people online and highlighted its efforts — such as Android One and developing low-cost Chromebooks — towards making the Web more accessible.
