Indian cab company Ola is launching a food delivery service that promises to drop off hot meals to your doorstep in 20 minutes or less. Ola Cafe is rolling out today in select neighborhoods in Bangalore, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Mumbai.
To order, tap the Cafe button below the map, choose your dish from customized menus for lunch, snacks and dinner, and opt to pay by cash or Ola Money, the company’s wallet service. You can then track your order on the map as it arrives.
The new service is similar to UberFRESH, which Uber launched in the US last August and expanded to Barcelona ahead of this year’s Mobile World Congress trade show.
It’s been a busy month for Ola. The company acquired rival TaxiForSure for $200 million just three weeks ago, and launched a cashless wallet payment option for autorickshaws in six Indian cities, as well as traditional black-and-yellow cabs in Mumbai.
