Google will give discounted Uber rides to anyone using Android Pay

Google has revealed that it’s teamed up with ride-hailing giant Uber to launch a new promotion for Android Pay customers in the United States.

All users of the mobile payment platform will be entitled to a 50 percent discount on the next ten journeys they make using the service between now and October 15.

Taking advantage of this promotion couldn’t be easier. Simply make sure your Android Pay account is in good standing, then select it as the desired payment method the next time you hail a ride. No coupon codes are required.

There is one major caveat you should be aware of, though. This offer is only good for a maximum discount of $5, so if your fare exceeds $10, you won’t be getting a full 50 percent off your trip. You will, instead, receive $5 towards it.
