Explore a massive Google data center in this 360-degree video

Ever wondered how Google manages thousands of petabytes of storage across its services around the world? The answer lies in its state-of-the-art data centers, and you can now take a close look inside.

Google has released a 360-degree video in glorious 4K resolution that takes you through its data center in The Dalles, Oregon.

You’ll get to see where its data is stored, learn how multiple centers around the world are connected to each other, how all those systems are kept cool and how the company disposes of faulty hard drives. The narration feels a bit like those old corporate training videos from the 70s and 80s, but the cool tech makes it worthwhile.

You can check out the clip on your desktop and use your mouse to drag and change your point of view, or load it up on your mobile device with a Cardboard viewer for a more immersive experience.
