Google announces 6-month equity-free accelerator for mobile startups

Google announces 6-month equity-free accelerator for mobile startups

Google announced today that it’s launched an equity-free accelerator program for mobile startups in India, Brazil and Indonesia.

As part of its Launchpad initiative, the tech giant is offering mentorship, support, training and up to $50,000 in funding without taking equity in the companies.

The Launchpad Accelerator will give startups six months of support, including an all-expense-paid trip to Google’s headquarters in Silicon Valley and the chance to work with Google’s engineers and mentors during the program and after the six months are up.

The startups will also get credits for Google products and favorable marketing spotlight opportunities.

Google has already chosen its startups for the first run of the program but anyone interested in applying for 2016 can do so on the Accelerator website.
