Email is a giant unending slog of messages that tests the will of all humans that come in contact with its horrors. So it’s no surprise that more and more companies are trying to solve the email infinity crisis.
Inbox, Google’s latest offering, is one method and now the company is sharing how the whole system works.
Before you dive into Google’s post about Inbox, be warned that it is incredibly technical and really directed to developers. Even Google’s Engineering Director, Garrick Toubassi notes that, “the following post has much more technical mumbo-jumbo than our normal fare.”
The main takeaway is that Google built three native apps for iOS, Android and Web and that those apps needed to access data from a data model and each platform required a different implementation of how to access that data. After that, it gets really nerdy.
