Google rolls out its Control Room feature to help manage audio and video settings in live Hangouts

Google rolls out its Control Room feature to help manage audio and video settings in live Hangouts

Google is rolling out a new feature for its Hangouts on Air product. Starting today, users will be able to take advantage of the company’s Control Room offering that enables users to manage audio and video levels of all Hangout participants to better enhance the show. J.D. Salazar, a software engineer at Google, announced the release on Google+.

Control Room’s availability isn’t that surprising — the company touted the offering at an event in October. If you’re hosting a Hangout, you’ll be able to find it in the sidebar of Hangouts on Air. However, not everyone will receive this feature at the same time — it may take a few days before it arrives.
