PSY goes out on top as Google releases YouTube Rewind 2012 top trending videos

Google has released its YouTube Rewind retrospective for 2012, and, as you’d expect, PSY has taken the top spot with his über-viral Gangnam Style. By comparison, Rebecca Black’s “Friday” topped last year’s list.

To go out with a bang, the company invited popular YouTubers to join in on a “YouTube Style” video that recreates some of the most-watched moments over the past year. Get ready for meme overload.

Here’s the top ten list:

It’s been a massive year for YouTube, and users are now watching over 4 billion hours of content per month on the site. “Gangnam Style” became the most-watched video last month, dethroning Justin Bieber’s “Baby”.
