Having a massive infrastructure and toolset at your disposal absolutely comes in handy, and Google has jumped into action yet again with its People Finder tool. The company has offered this tool up before, most recently during the horrific earthquakes in Japan.
For those trying to get in contact with loved ones who are affected by the Philippines floods, the tool is available to either search for someone or check-in to let everyone know that you’re ok:
The tool is available in both English and Filipino.
In addition, Google has launched a “Crisis Response” page, with information about how you can find your loved ones, complete with links to news and detailed maps.
I can’t imagine for a moment what it feels like to not know where someone you care about is after something as catastrophic as this. Our thoughts at TNW are with those affected by the ongoing tragedy.
Pssst, hey you!
