If you’re an athlete and are concerned about ill-fitting shoes holding you back, you’ll be glad to know that Puma’s working on some high-tech kicks that will sort you out.
“This event was off the charts”
Gary Vaynerchuk was so impressed with TNW Conference 2016 he paused mid-talk to applaud us.
For starters, the Autodisc sneakers pack motors in their tongues that loosen or tighten internal laces wrapped around the front of your foot. Engadget notes that this allows the shoe to flex like natural sneakers than Nike’s HyperAdapt.
Plus, you can pair your Autodiscs with your phone to control the fit – and possibly attain the same amount of tightness every time. They also come with a wireless charging mat to easily juice up your sneakers.
However, it’s worth noting that while Brinc believes the Autodiscs will go on sale ‘eventually’, there isn’t a launch date or price tag yet. Meanwhile, Nike HyperAdapt will become available on November 28 – so if you’re in the market for self-lacing shoes, be sure to queue up at the right store at the end of this month.
