Pornhub’s $1,000 TwerkingButt promises VR porn and the decline of human civilization

Twerk is in the dictionary now and Pornhub wants the TwerkingButt to be in your bedroom.

The vaguely horrifying, hi-tech vibrating sex toy is a pretend posterior that will cost up to $1,000 and comes with a VR headset and companion apps for iOS and Android.

“We can barely contain our excitement for the new TwerkingButt,” says Corey Price, Pornhub’s Vice President, showing the kind of disregard for carefully phrased statements you’d expect from a man promoting a technologically advanced take on the gloryhole.

TwerkingButt – it’s actually quite difficult to keep typing that name – will “provide the ultimate experience in interactive cyber passion” (it says here) by allowing you customize its twerking patterns, rhythm and vibrations.

The device is controlled using a bundled remote or your iOS or Android device. Its makers claim it simulates body heat, so users can cling on to the slight illusion of human contact as they make love to a disembodied butt.

In the interests of journalism, I asked Pornhub and its partner in this highly disruptive dick technology TopCo Sales how the TwerkingButt “mimics real human flesh.” The answer? Cyberskin.

The material is designed to simulate the feeling of skin-to-skin contact. The companies claim it can be used to render “virtually lifelike replicas of your favorite adult stars”, which is in no way something a serial killer might say.

They went on to explain that Cyberskin is composed of “spring-like, high resiliency bonds” that make it malleable and able to return to its original shape. That apparently comes in handy when “creating the feel of erectile tissue, realistic balls [or] underlying bone structure.”

The process of creating TwerkingButt apparently took four years. It comes with custom VR goggles and 3D content delivered by the identically named TwerkingButt app – which has somehow slipped onto the App Store and Google Play.

Creepface

The idea is that you customize your experience with the app, even syncing the device’s movement to your chosen playlist. If you can find a song called ‘What The Hell Am I Doing With My Life?’, that would be the ideal soundtrack.

TwerkingButt is getting its official unveiling at the ANME adult novelty tradeshow in Burbank, California on July 12 and then will go on sale in retail stores across the world in August.

If you’re desperate, you can preorder one online now. The ‘classic’ version costs $699, the ‘deluxe’ model is $999 (the difference between the two is not immediately clear).

Both the iOS and Android apps are free, if having something called TwerkingButt on your home screen seems appealing to you.

Update: Note from the PornHub – “‘Classic’ units are being sold for $499 (regularly $699) and ‘Deluxe’ for $799 (regularly $999) for the first week only.”
