The Basis Peak fitness tracker gets an update, now displays notifications from your phone

Basis has updated its Peak fitness tracker’s firmware for the first time this year to enable the wearable to display notifications from your iOS or Android smartphone.

Firmware version 1.8.15 brings text, call and other smartphone notifications to the Peak, which vibrates when it receives new alerts. Notifications are visible for five minutes before they disappear.

Users can also quiet the Peak by switching to Do Not Disturb mode on the device. Notifications are turned off by default and have to be activated before you can see them.

In addition, the updated firmware allows users to export their activity and fitness data — including heart rate, calories burned, and steps — through the Basis Peak mobile app.
