HP Says more TouchPads will be available soon, offers notifications

If you’ve missed out on the chance to snag a dirt cheap HP TouchPad in the past couple of days since the company started clearing out its stock, there’s good news. According to a statement on the HP site, the TouchPad will be back in stock at some of your favorite locations soon:

The good news is that we will have more available shortly. If you’d like to be notified when these products are back in inventory please sign up at this site www.hp.com/go/touchpad-availability.

If you’ve missed the hubbub, HP has said that it’s getting out of the hardware business and that the TouchPad will no longer  be manufactured because of that fact. While some have seen this as the death of HP’s webOS, TNW has found out that there’s much more to this story including the fact that the TouchPad hardware isn’t quite up to where it should be and webOS on the iPad actually runs notably better.

With the Android modding community offering up a $1500 bounty on the first person to make Android run on a TouchPad device, there’s almost surely going to be a continued push to make the hardware viable for those who have snagged them at a discount.
