This hidden Facebook page is extremely painful to look at

This hidden Facebook page is extremely painful to look at

Facebook’s interface is a big maze of confusing buttons, lists and menus.

That’s exactly why there are a lot of interesting pages hidden away far from the News Feed. While navigating its beautiful mess of clickable things today, I stumbled upon one of the darkest corners of the social network.

It’s a pure and honest confrontation with the harsh reality of social media. It’s probably the number 1 thing Facebook doesn’t want to show you.

Here we go. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’s going to hurt.

It’s the page that marks every single time you thought you knew someone well enough to add them as a friend, but got to taste rejection instead. Because Facebook has to be about fun and likes, it’s carefully hidden from sight.

Personally, I had 3 open friend requests from about a year ago. Having forgotten about all of them, it sucked to see my call for friendship silently ignored.

However, it also made me consider if I should have sent a request to those people in the first place. Was I too eagery? Do they ignore all their requests? Or do they just secretly hate me?

I guess I’ll never know.
