The new AWS Device Farm lets you test out your Android and Fire OS apps on a variety of devices of your choosing right through the cloud. Though it doesn’t specify exactly which devices are available, Amazon says its pool includes popular smartphones, tablets and more.
Developers can then set up Device Farm to test real-world scenarios, such as configuring language, location and app data per device, and Amazon includes a suite of its own tests you can try. It’ll also automatically identify and group identical errors to help you sort out which problems are device-specific and which are wide-spread.
Device Farm will be available starting July 13. Signing up for the service is free and 250 ‘device minutes’ are included, after which you’ll have to pay $0.17 per minute. Alternatively, you can opt for a flat $250 monthly fee per device if your testing scales up to that level.
