Satellite company Inmarsat begins opening its technology to developers

Satellite technology company Inmarsat is looking to fundamentally change the way in which it ushers in new technological developments by opening up its platform to developers and startups.

The new strategy is being announced at the company’s first developer conference, which is taking place in London this week. Over the course of the three days, software and hardware developers will get an oversight of Inmarsat’s work in the maritime, enterprise, aviation and government sectors, as well as learning more about becoming a registered developer.

More importantly, the shift will allow for a greater diversity of devices and services for the industries by allowing other businesses and developers to integrate some of Inmarsat’s technologies.
