Life lessons from graphic designer and blogger, “Swiss Miss”

Life lessons from graphic designer and blogger, “Swiss Miss”

Today, at the Future of Web Design in New York City, Graphic Designer Tina Roth Eisenberg who refers to herself as a “Swiss designer gone NYC” took the stage. Eisenberg is best known as “Swiss Miss” after launching her prolific blog, Swiss-Miss.com in 2005.

Just 6 years later, her blog receives almost a million monthly visitors from around the world. She’s created winning apps, spearheaded epic data visualization projects and set up a flourishing design coworking space in Brooklyn. Recently, she launched Tattly, which is the coolest digital storefront for temporary tattoos ever invented. With a blazingly successful career path and a loving family, it’s clear that Eisenberg loves her life. Today, the mother of two shared her secrets to success, specifically “Lessons I am going to teach my kids“:

  1. Love what you do.
  2. Trust your intuition.
  3. If an opportunity scares you, you need to take it.
  4. Don’t be a complainer: Make things better or let them go.
  5. Make time for side projects.
  6. Surround yourself with like-minded people.
  7. Ignore haters.
  8. Seek to inspire others.
She also shared this inspiring quote:

“We define ourselves by the choices we have made. We are, in fact, the sum total of our choices.”

Martin S. Bergmann
