Photo buffs, we’re giving you this premium WordPress theme for free

Photo buffs, we’re giving you this premium WordPress theme for free

I’ve been a WordPress lover for a lot of years and in that time I’ve had the pleasure and pain of using many different themes. Without a doubt, switching to Standard Theme was the single best move I’ve made. Both from usability and readability standpoints, I’ve fallen in love with it.

Now, the same group that brought you Standard Theme and its webcasting counterpart Live Theme is introducing its next premium WordPress theme, aimed directly at photography buffs — Pro Photo Theme.

Out of the box, Pro Photo Theme ships with different color schemes, 4 choices of display for your photos and some other incredibly handy features for photo clickers:

  • Gallery Embed Codes. Videographers have the luxury of having their work easily embedded in other sites. Now photographers do, too.
  • Image Vault. When others attempt to hot link photos, they will be presented with a page informing them that they are unable to do so.
  • Disabled Right-Click. It’s impossible to completely prevent visitors from scraping photographs from a site, but we’ve done what we can to make it a bit more difficult.
  • Point-and-click Shortcodes. Shortcodes are convenient but cumbersome. Not anymore – we’ve developed an easy way to embed shortcodes in your post through a point-and-click interface.

The team behind Standard Theme is called 8bit. Living on the mantra of “We Craft Fun” has worked well for them and there’s an incredible community of people to answer  your questions. Need even more help, a full support license for the theme is available for a few extra bucks.

Pro Photo Theme will cost you $49 for the standard license. If you want the full support license, that hops up to $99 but you get unlimited access to the entire 8Bit Support system to help you handle the things that might cause a stumble. Want in? Head over to the Pro Photo Theme site and buy it now.

Oh but wait…I said we’re giving it away. So if you’re a photographer who is badly in need of a new WordPress theme, we want to know about it. Drop a link to your site in the comments below. The two worst looking sites, as judged by our resident design snob Zee, will each get a copy of Pro Photo Theme.
