I love SaaS companies, in fact, I work for one. As an avid marketer, myself, I like looking at both successful SaaS companies, and startup level SaaS companies, and analyze their growth, marketing strategies, the way they approach their customers. More than anything, I like to analyze their overall business development plan and I’ve noticed a trend. SaaS companies are moving and focusing on the mobile app development. What staggers me, is the actual velocity of mobile app development for SaaS products.
According to a report by Strategy Analytics, “The SMB market for mobile SaaS will reach $19.7 billion by 2017.”

It comes as no surprise to me that mobile SaaS is taking off among small and medium businesses. The need for flexibility, scale, and ease of deployment is driving adoption of SaaS to support mobile enterprise strategies.

Ok, so it’s an obvious fact that every SaaS is opting for developing mobile apps for showcasing their brand and for creating a more accessible (on the go) experience for their users. However, there are a few questions regarding the SaaS app niche, that needs to be answered, such as; Will it survive? What’s the driving force behind any successful SaaS mobile app? What’s the return of investment a SaaS company can expect from a mobile app?

In a few words, how do you view the ever-changing app development world, and what is the driving force behind it?

It’s no secret that technology trends move fast and the tools for building those technologies constantly evolve. Just the www bubble in the 1990s, the mobile app bubble is revolutionizing the enterprises and businesses. It fascinates me. I must say that this app development trend will change the aspect of technological trigonometry in the coming years. Today there is an application for anything. App design and development is a career worth pursuing.

Mobile applications are an integral part of our life, as they track your movement, activities, and, at any point, provide a range of information on you, at one tap. The mobile applications of today are aimed at all facets of life that one can think of. There are lot of factors behind it that are eventually connected;

What is the average return of investment for a SaaS company, from moving to mobile?

SaaS, and other recurring revenue businesses are different because the revenue for the service comes over an extended period of time. As it happens if a customer is happy with the service, they will stick around for a long time, and the profit will increase considerably. You can’t predict it exactly and since we are purely mobile app development company, it would be unethical and irrational to survey ROI for a SaaS company. Generally it ranges from $1k to $50k per month depending on the versatility and diversity.

In the last 5 years, we’ve been seeing tons of SaaS companies catering to the mobile audience, with notable mentions like, Buffer, Salesforce, Kissmetrics,  and a few recent ones; Teamweek and Desygner.
