AI for the real world

MACHINE:LEARNERS

Artificial intelligence may still seem like an abstract concept to many but it has real-world applications that are changing lives. We'll explore these and what's next.

What to expect?

FROM TIME SAVER TO GAME CHANGER

2019 is the year that AI becomes ubiquitous – in our devices, homes, streets, and cities. We’ll see a change from small conveniences to a completely new way of living; one that opens up possibilities for the way we communicate, travel, and relax.

This prompts the deeper questions as we make this transition. How do we ensure that machine learning improves our lives rather than the opposite? Which industries will it change first? When will we see the first AGI?

At the Machine:Learners track, we’ll be exploring how artificial intelligence will impact us, and how we can ensure that it’s a positive change.

THEMES

Here’s what we’ll be exploring on the Machine:Learners stage
  • AI EVERYWHERE

AI is pretty much everywhere, without us even noticing it anymore. How is it making our lives easier, and how can it benefit your company? Here, we explore how to make use of machine learning applications.

  • FAKE IS THE NEW REAL

How do we protect ourselves from fake news, deep fakes, and other complications created by AI? We’ll dive into the ways that we can control our own creations – both now and in the future.

  • AI FOR EVERYONE

AI has the potential to solve the largest problems facing society. Many aspects of machine learning can help democratize access to education and healthcare – let’s explore these use cases.

  • BALANCING WORK

How can we ensure that AI makes our jobs easier, rather than takes them away entirely? We’ll delve into the ways that AI can be balanced with irreplaceable human ingenuity.

  • INDUSTRY 5.0

Inevitably, job roles will evolve with the rise of AI. We’ll examine the new opportunities and what skills will be needed to make sure you’re able to meet the challenges ahead.

  • BUILDING UTOPIA
