Manitoba finally gets hi-speed HSPA+ network

As of today, Canadians living in the province of Manitoba finally have access to Rogers’ wireless hi-speed HSPA+ network.

The major Canadian ISP has now extended its network by 150 times within Manitoba bringing residents improved quality of voice services and a faster connection while using data. The existing network in Winnipeg and southern Manitoba has been upgraded to HSPA+ and it’s also now available in new areas including Thompson, The Pas, Flin Flon, Nelson House, St. Theresa Point and Highways 6 and 10.

Rogers claims customers living in Manitoba will receive up to 21 Mbps while downloading on their devices. All in all, this is fantastic news for Manitobans who will be able to utilize smartphones and tablets in their full glory.

This country wide roll out of HSPA+ will replace the 3.5G network increasing speeds by 13.8 MB per second.

In another North American first, Rogers network has evolved from 3.5G (up to 7.2 Mbps) to HPSA+ (up to 21 Mbps). Check back for updates on our progress in rolling out our HSPA+ network from coast to coast.
