Innovative Canadian sites to be recognized by .CA Impact Awards

Innovative Canadian sites to be recognized by .CA Impact Awards

Canadians with a .CA domain have the opportunity to win $5000 cash, bragging rights and free advertising from the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA).

CIRA is recognizing both individuals and organizations that are using their .CA domains to make an impact on the lives of others. The impact can be social, technological or economic and there’s also four categories to enter.

The .CA Impact Awards was created to celebrate best-in-class websites and applications in the fields of E-learning, small business, not-for-profit and web technology and design. Canadians are able to nominate anyone for an award (or themselves) but there’s a detailed description of what it takes to win in each category.

Your site should truly demonstrate the full potential of the Internet.

Winners will get a cheque for $5000 and will earn a spot on CIRA’s website along with some buzz in the news. CIRA will be accepting entries until March 25 and will be announcing the winners at Mesh Conference on May 24th. We’ve posted the .CA Impact Award video below which starts off with Amber MacArthur, one of Canada’s well-known social media and Internet specialists.

We understand that the Internet is more than technology – it is a significant force, a catalyst, and a powerful agent of social change. That’s why the .CA Impact Awards celebrates impact of .CA websites and applications. We are looking for people and organizations that use their .CA sites to truly make a difference in the lives of their users and those around them. -CIRA
