Disney fans in China can now get their hands on a comprehensive digital entertainment package through a deal with Alibaba that will bring a, slightly odd, Mickey Mouse-themed OTT device to Chinese homes.
Hate spammy ICOs and crappy cryptocurrencies?
So do we.
People can now sign up for a one-year, pre-sale DisneyLife subscription starting at $125 (RMB799) that includes film streaming from both Disney and Pixar, games, e-books and songs, as well as easy access to parks and resorts information.
To cement its presence in the region, Shanghai Disney Resort, the first in mainland China, opens in 2016.
Not to miss an opportunity to upsell, the service also features easy access to buy Disney merch, along with Alibaba’s other products.
DisneyLife launched in the UK back in November offering a monthly, app-based subscription service for £9.99 with up to six personalised family accounts and the ability to connect 10 devices to the platform.
The device will start shipping as soon as December 28.
