Instapaper Premium is now free for everyone

Instapaper Premium is now free for everyone

Just a few months after being acquired by Pinterest, Instapaper is making its premium tier subscription free for everyone.

That means everyone will have access to a few nifty features without any additional cost:

  • Full-text search for all articles

  • Unlimited Notes

  • Unlimited speed reading

  • Text-to-speech playlists

  • “Send to Kindle” via bookmarklet and mobile apps

  • Kindle Digests of up to 50 articles

  • An ad-free Instapaper website

Current premium subscribers will receive a prorated refund “in the coming weeks.”

The move is part of Pinterest’s strategy to be more than just a place to collect not just visual content, but articles and text heavy items too. The company got started when it added article pins back in 2013, but acquiring Instapaper and making all of its features free suggest there is still more to come.
