SCRN lets you save articles for later by taking screenshots

SCRN lets you save articles for later by taking screenshots

BetaList features the newest startups. Today, we look at SCRN which takes screenshots on your mobile device to the next level. Submit your startup to get featured too.

What does your product do?

SCRN re-thinks screenshots on mobile devices. All active smartphone users use screenshots to perform some task. We want to create an app or even a couple of apps that will take actions depending on a user’s intention behind the screenshot that was taken.

Our first product is the totally new way to save useful content on mobile. Just make a screenshot of an interesting post in your favourite app like Facebook and SCRN will save it for you. Our obvious competitor for SCRN is Pocket which has built the great product to save content for later. That said, we believe screenshots provide a more convenient way to do that. We are sure that people will love it.

SCRN Screenshots

Where did the idea come from?

I believe that great products come from own needs. I read a lot of articles on my smartphone and failed to find convenient way to save links. I do take screenshots. My photo library is full of screenshots of posts I want to read later. It’s super intuitive. So I thought there should be other people that use this pattern and I can make a product for them and myself.

What does the future hold?

I believe that SCRN can be a great platform for products based on screenshots. We have watched people and most of them make screenshots in some particular cases. For example, when setting the high score in a game or for saving items on Instagram to buy later.

One more great thing here is that screenshots can work with any other app without any integration. We can build something for messengers and bots etc. Let’s see where it will take us.
