In light of recent tremors in Mexico, today Google announced it will be displaying real-time earthquake reports at the top of all related search results.
The reports will include a short “at-a-glance summary” containing information about “the size of the quake, a map of the affected areas, and tips to safely navigate in the aftermath.”
The “shakemap” – as Google calls it – will show the epicenter of the earthquake as well as the various intensities at which affected areas were shaken.

All earthquake related search results will also include information and suggestions about other other recent earthquakes in order to better put the impact of the tremors into perspective.
You can test out the feature now by searching for ‘earthquake’ or ‘earthquakes near me’.
