Google’s Android keyboard now has a one-handed mode and a ton of new features

Google’s Android keyboard now has a one-handed mode and a ton of new features

If you use a Nexus device or otherwise use Google Keyboard on Android, there a bunch of nifty new updates in store for you.

Perhaps most notable, the keyboard now comes with a one-handed mode. That’s particularly useful for Nexus devices, which don’t come with one-handed accessibility features in phones like Samsung’s S7 or LG’s G5.

You can access one handed mode from Google’s Keyboard settings, or adjust it on the fly by long pressing on the comma and swiping right.

Another useful feature: if you keep on getting annoying suggestions, you can now remove words from your dictionary by long pressing the suggestions as they appear while typing.

Other things you can now do:

  • Access a number pad and emoji right from the symbols menu
  • Delete entire words with a quick left swipe.
  • Adjust the keyboard height to your liking from the settings menu.
  • Control the cursor with a left or right swipe on the space bar.

The update is rolling out to the Play Store now, though you can head on over to APK Mirror if you’d like it right now.
