Sports Illustrated lets you get up close and personal with swimsuit models in VR

For decades now, middle school boys have had to put their faces very close to the yearly Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in order to feel like they were really present with the models that graced the pages. But now, with support from Wevr, this years’ issue includes a companion VR app to objectify beautiful women in swimsuits with the power of immersive video.

The app, available for both iOS and Android, includes three videos at launch, and will be free to access perpetually for all Sports Illustrated subscribers. For those who aren’t subscribers, the publication is offering a photo set for $1.99. A payment of $4.99 will get “premium access,” which according to the trailer video will apparently include a considerable increase of women suggestively tugging at their bikini bottoms.

Seems like people love it.
