PlayStation Messages lets you ping your PSN buddies on iOS and Android

Sony has launched PlayStation Messages, an official mobile app for messaging your contacts on PlayStation Network.

Available for iOS and Android, the free app lets you see which of your PSN friends are online and message them privately or in a group of up to 100 people. You can beam across voice and text messages as well as photos and PS-themed stickers.

Messaging was previously possible in the official PlayStation app, but it’s been removed from the latest version — so you’ll need Messages if you want to chat with your mates.

The updated PlayStation app on Android and iOS now lets you follow verified profiles of select game developers, producers and community managers.
