The Spirograph is one of the coolest retro toys. The drawing tool lets you create mathematical curves – technically known as hypotrochoids and epitrochoids – and is the best of British.

It was invented by Denys Fisher back in 1965. He was also the guy who came up with Stretch Armstrong.

Now you can get the same effect on the Web with Cycloid Drawing Machine, an automatic version that you can set off drawing by switching through a series of presets. Trust me, it’s mesmerizing.
